Simi Valley covers 38.9 sq. miles of prime Southern California Real Estate located along California highway 118, 27 miles east of the city of Ventura, just west of the San Fernando Valley and northwest of the city of Los Angeles, 34.26° north of the equator and 118.75° west, at an elevation of 700-1000 feet above sea level. The name "Simi Valley" comes from an Indian word, meaning place, village or region. Simi Valley's nickname is "Peaceful Valley." Simi Valley, the country's "Safest City With More Than 100,000 People", according to an FBI report in the year 2003. Simi Valley is home to more than 111,500 residents. The Simi Valley city flower is the California Wild Rose (The Chumash Indians ate vitamin-rich rosehips). The city tree is the Coast Live Oak (The Chumash Indians used the acorns from this tree for food).

Public education is provided by the Simi Valley Unified School District which consists of 19 elementary schools, 3 junior high schools, 3 high schools a continuation school, and special education of all kinds. Simi Valley Adult School and two community colleges offer a variety of vocational and certificate programs. The Ronald Reagan Freeway, California State Highway
118 runs right through the north side of Simi Valley from it's
connection to California State Highway 23 in Moorpark to the
west to the valley's east end at the Santa Susana Pass.
The 118 continues east, connecting Simi
Valley homeowners to Three Major Highways:
